BMW Repair – FAQ#2

Is there any equipment every BMW repair shop should have?  Should I look for these things?

These days Auto Logic is the standard for auto repair diagnostics.  If your auto repair shop — the one that repairs your BMW now — does not have or use these kinds of computerized systems there is strong chance they will miss important problems your car may have.  All the big brands – BMW, Mini, Mercedes, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Volvo, Jaguar, Range Rover, etc. – have computerized engines that require precision tuning to maximize efficiency and prevent excess wear.  The repair shop you use should have this equipment so you can get the best performance out of your car or SUV.

BMW Repair – FAQ #1

What makes one BMW repair shop or collision center different from another?

Auto body work is as much an art as a science. There are little details that some shops can miss.  The seams along the hood and fender should be perfectly uniform — something second rate shops often miss.  The paint should be consistent with no orange peal texture or color discrepancies. These are things that you will have to look at up close.  Most reputable shops will have a steady stream of cars they are repairing. Ask to see one that they have just finished and you will have all your answers.

Make sure you hire the right body shop for your BMW.  You don’t want to find out after the job is done that the shop does second-tier work.
